Unable to cope with the suffocating customs of his land, the heir, Prince Harshwardhan [Saif Ali Khan], has stayed away in London. But the sudden demise of the queen, Rani Suhasinidevi [Sharmila Tagore], forces the Prince back to the kingdom he had left behind.
The Prince's return brings a rush of joy into the moribund fort. His mentally challenged twin sister, Princess Nandini [Raima Sen] and his childhood love, Rajjo [Vidya Balan] are delighted to see him. But the joy of reunion is short-lived.
There is unrest in the kingdom: Farmers are being stripped of their lands. The king, Rana Jaywardhan [Boman Irani], influenced by his brother, Rana Jyotiwardhan [Jackie Shroff], supports the atrocities being forced upon the helpless peasants. The king receives a death threat over the phone.
An irreverent police officer, Pannalal Chohar [Sanjay Dutt], is called in to investigate. But he might be too late. The fragile peace of the land is suddenly shattered by a barrage of bullets. And amidst the mayhem, the safely guarded secrets of the fort are unveiled.

Story Line: Some films leave you stunned and speechless with sheer power. The powerful story, the powerful execution, the powerful performances sweep you off your feet. Long after you've watched the film, it still haunts you, it disturbs you, it stays in your memory, it still sends a chill down your spine if you recall the incidents. BLACK FRIDAY, directed by Anurag Kashyap, is one such film!
The film begins a few grueling moments before the 15 bombs begin detonating in Bombay on March 12, 1993. From then onwards, the film segregates itself into five chapters (Arrests and Interrogation and The Conspiracy etc.) that show the planning, the implementation and the outcome of the attack. The film drudges forth through the confessional narrative given by each of the apprehended suspects to ACP Rakesh Maria (Kay Kay Menon). The blasts have brought misery both to the victims and the perpetrators. They constantly flee from town to town on false hope that Tiger Menon (Pavan Malhotra) would get them out of the country. Even ACP Maria can often be seen expressing his anguish at the stress of this manhunt.

Story Line: There are far too many stories in everyday life. While you forget most of them as a new day unfurls, a few stories find a place in some corner of your mind and are difficult to erase from your memory’s ‘recycle bin’.
Let’s give you a gist of this straight-out-of-life story: A man is accused of raping his three daughters. Worse, the mother of the girls also testifies in court against the man in question.
But the film challenges our age old belief that the women who claim to be raped or sexually assaulted by men are always innocent. ‘Undertrial’ portrays the life of Sagar Hussain (Rajpal Yadav), an under-trial prisoner at the Central Jail, falsely accused of raping his three daughters continuously for eight years by his own wife Salma (Monica Castelino) all for the sake of money! Inevitably he is not only hated by society at large but also his fellow prisoners, who themselves have committed heinous crimes but surprisingly do not regard themselves as despicable as Sagar! The evidence is stacked up against Sagar.
The last witness is Sagar's wife Sameena [Monica Castelino], who wants to ensure life imprisonment for him with the help of Public Prosecutor P.P. Verma [Prem Chopra]. Amidst a guaranteed guilty verdict enters Ravi Vishnoi [Kader Khan] to, perhaps, Sagar's rescue. Does Justice Jaya Reddy [Pratima Kazmi] pronounce him guilty?
